Rev. Jason Coker is Co-Lead Pastor of The Oceanside Sanctuary in North San Diego County, where he has guided the transformation of a small, struggling congregation into a thriving progressive Christian community rooted in justice and inclusion. He teaches courses in leadership, social policy, and anti-racism at California State University San Marcos and is completing PhD research on women’s religious disaffiliation through the lens of decolonial theology. Jason also co-hosts The Collective Table podcast, a space for exploring scripture, faith, and spirituality from a progressive perspective.
Rev. Jenell Coker has served in ministry in churches in Utah, Ohio, and California since 1995. She is a certified Spiritual Director and joined the staff of The Oceanside Sanctuary in July of 2019 where she serves as Co-Lead Minister alongside her husband a ministry partner, Jason. She is a graduate of San Francisco Theological Seminary (now part of the University of Redlands) and is ordained with the Progressive Christian Alliance.
